Here is the Fern Leaf Shawl. This one-skein crescent-shaped shawl uses easy short row shaping. You will knit this shawl from the bottom up starting with the pretty lace border. The stockinette body is worked next and it finishes with an eyelet row. Stockinette does tend to curl and the eyelet row helps to correct this.

You can use any sock or fingering weight yarn for this shawl pattern. It is shown here in Zen Yarn Garden Serenity Silk Single and the colour is Frosted Kiwi. One skein is all you need!

The pretty lace border resembles fern fronds. It’s important to block this shawl once completed to open the lace pattern so you can enjoy the Fern Leaf effect.

This is a great pattern for one skein of pretty yarn. It incorporates the clean lines of stockinette stitch with a fanciful lace border. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine!
