The Fern Leaf Shawl is a crescent-shaped shawl worked from the bottom up starting with the pretty lace border. The stockinette body is shaped with short rows and finishes with an eyelet edge at the top of the shawl. One skein of fingering or sock yarn is required.

Yarn: Zen Yarn Garden Serenity Silk Single (75% superwash merino, 15% cashmere, 10% silk; 430 yd [393 m]/3.53 oz [100 g]). 1 skein. Shown in Frosted Kiwi.

Needles: US size 6 [4.0 mm] 32” [80 cm] circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge.
US size 8 [5.0 mm] 32” [80 cm] circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge.
* Larger needle is used for casting on only. Shawl is worked flat, but circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches.

Finished measurements: Approximately 20 inches (51 cm) wide at middle and 54 inches (137 cm) long, blocked.

Skills required: Knitting lace, working short rows, blocking lace. Stitches used: k, p, k2tog, p2tog, SK2P, ssk, SSKSP, yo.

Pattern includes list of abbreviations, diagram, and the lace stitch is both charted and written.
