Hello! I’m Michelle.
I’m Michelle Krause, a Canadian knitting designer with northern roots, now creating from beautiful Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
I design knitting patterns for beautiful, wearable knits, with a particular love for shawls, cowls and accessories. My designs often combine interesting textures, simple lace and clean lines to create pieces that are enjoyable to knit and easy to wear.
As a former teacher, I appreciate the importance of clear instructions. I believe that beautiful knitting doesn’t need to be complicated, and I strive to create well-written, dependable patterns that make the knitting experience as enjoyable as the finished project.
Whether it’s a one-skein project, a cozy cowl or a generously sized shawl, I love exploring how simple stitches, thoughtful construction and beautiful yarns can come together to create something special.

Leah Michelle Designs comes from my first and middle names. Although my first name is Leah, I’ve always gone by Michelle — so if you see either name connected with LMD, that’s me!
