Michelle Krause is the creator of Leah Michelle Designs. Originally a northern Canadian knitting designer, Michelle has now permanently relocated to Vancouver Island, British Columbia. She specializes in knitted accessory patterns – shawls, cowls, scarves, hats, socks, and mittens. She also enjoys designing with lace, cables, texture, and various weights of yarn. Originally designing one (or sometimes two) skein projects perfect for hand-dyed and/or luxury yarns, Michelle has begun to experiment more with multiples colours in single projects. Leah Michelle Designs are always uncomplicated, with clean lines and symmetry.
Michelle’s patterns are well written, easy to understand, edited, and tested. Each pattern also includes a list of abbreviations, notes, written and/or charted instructions, and beautiful photography. Patterns are targeted to beginning and intermediate knitters.
Being a Canadian knitter and designer, Michelle loves to discover Canadian yarn dyers and uses many Canadian yarns in her designs.
