I love a big oversized kite-shaped shawl in the fall. It almost doubles as a sweater. My new shawl pattern, From Summer To Fall, will do just what it says. It’ll take you from summer to fall. I chose a bright summer colour plus two muted fall colours for mine to keep a bright reminder of summer close to me while moving into the fall season.
This is a sideways triangular shawl worked in a V shape with a central double decrease stitch. An alternating pattern of garter stitch, stripes, and eyelet sections make it a fun project to knit.
The pattern is designed in Malabrigo Mechita in Hollyhock, Violin, and Pearl. Mechita is one of my favourite fingering-weight yarns because it’s soft and squishy and beautiful. And the colours are stunning. Choosing a colour combination is a big part of what makes this project so much fun!
I knitted a second From Summer To Fall shawl in subtler fall colours:
For this one I chose two Malabrigo Sock colours: Ivy and Myths. And then for the third colour I chose Emilia & Philomena Adelina in Brooklyn. Just like the first one, I also chose two solid colours plus a complementary speckled colour.
