The lovely lace border of my new Herb Garden Shawl pattern reminds me of the buds, leaves, and beautiful variety of a herb garden, especially in this beautiful green.

Just like the Dazzling Daffodils Shawl, this one is also a sideways garter and lace shawl knit from one end to the other. You will cast on 4 stitches to begin and then increase to the middle. Next, you will decrease back down to the opposite end and then bind off 4 stitches to finish. Choose one skein (or more if you like) of a pretty summery fingering-weight yarn and enjoy the rhythm of this lovely knit. Weigh your yarn before you begin and periodically while you’re knitting to find the halfway point.

I designed this one in the always beautiful SweetGeorgia Yarns Cashluxe Fine. It’s shown here in Basil. Any sock or fingering yarn will work. Instructions are included in the pattern for the 3HDC bobble but any bobble or nupp technique may be used. Beads can even be substituted for the bobbles for an especially beautiful effect. Check out social media posts or Ravelry projects for creative ideas from other knitters.

Washing and blocking this shawl is important to achieve the finished size and to open up the pretty lace pattern. Don’t forget this crucial step!
