The Moody Cowl pattern is available now! The deep colours used in this knitted cowl create a moody feeling, expressing perfectly how many of us feel after several months of a cold dark winter.

You will need three colours of worsted weight yarn. Three colours of Black Cat Custom Yarn Let’s Get Worsted are used here. The colours shown here are Void Talon, Foundry, and In The Navy. Choose any three colours of worsted weight and create your own effect.

This cowl is a similar size and shape to my one skein cowl patterns even though it requires three yarns. It fits snugly around the neck and it’s cozy and warm.

I knitted a second Moody Cowl in Peace Fleece Worsted in Palomino, Wild Mustard, and Chestnut. These three colours give it a lighter and more cheerful feeling. And this yarn has a touch of mohair making the cowl soft and fuzzy.

The slipped stitch colourwork pattern is easy to work. The slipped stitches create a dense fabric and the yarn carried along the inside (shown in the above right photo) adds extra thickness making it cozy and warm. You will knit this cowl in the round from the bottom up. Instructions are written.

Also… watch for the Moody Shawl pattern coming in March. It uses the same three yarns to create a big warm triangular shawl. Not only does it use the same slipped stitch colour work pattern, but it also incorporates other stitch patterns to keep it interesting.
