This is Garnet Dreams. And it seems fitting that this pretty garnet-coloured shawl pattern is ready to release on the last day of January. Garnet is January’s birthstone. Also, if you see a garnet in your dreams, then it is believed that you will find focus, order, and calm in your life. What a great start to a new year, right?

The Garnet Dreams shawl is an easy sideways garter and lace shawl designed in Baah Yarn La Jolla. The colour is Garnet.

This is an end-to-end shawl. It starts at one tip with a few stitches and ends at the other tip with a few stitches. It increase to the middle and decreases back down to the opposite tip.

Any amount of fingering-weight yarn may be used. The lace edge is worked along with the garter stitch body of the shawl.

The pattern includes instructions for using different amounts of yarn. You will weigh your yarn before starting and periodically throughout. Then you will use half of your yarn for the increase section and the other half for the decrease section.
