Looking for a quick sideways shawl pattern to work on during these last days of summer? Check out the Little Summer Shawl. It’s a one-skein sideways garter and lace shawl. The Little Summer Shawl is an end-to-end-shawl pattern. You start at one end, use half your yarn for the increase section, then the other half to decrease, and you finish at the opposite end. Easy!

Use any amount of sock or fingering-weight yarn. Weigh your yarn before you begin and use half for the increase section and the remaining half to decrease. It’s a great one-skein project. The yarn used here is SweetGeorgia Yarns Tough Love Sock in Laurel and also in Oxblood.

You knit the garter stitch body and the lace edging at the same time. There’s no sewing involved. Washing and blocking the shawl is important to achieve the finished size and open the lace pattern.
