This top-down sock uses a lace pattern that is easy to remember and quick to knit, making this a perfect summer knitting project. And you might even consider wearing these light and airy socks in the summer months. Worked in a pretty summer colour, they are reminiscent of flowers in the garden.
This is a top-down sock pattern. Instructions are written for dpns. Pattern stitches are given in both written and charted instructions.
Yarn: Cascade Yarns Heritage (75% superwash merino wool, 25% nylon; 437 yd [400 m]/100 grams). 1 skein. Shown here in #5605 – plum and #5645 – tangerine.
Needles: US size 1 (2.25 mm) dpns or size needed to obtain gauge.
Size: Women’s medium. Leg circumference and foot circumference are each approximately 8 inches. Foot length is adjustable. Will fit a women’s US foot size of 8 to 9. The lace pattern is quite stretchy. To make the sock larger or smaller, change needle size.
Required Skills: Basic lace knitting (yo, k2tog, ssk), basic sock knitting, kitchener stitch. Stitches used: k, p, yo, k2tog, ssk.
