It’s a common misconception that nothing grows on the arctic tundra. There is actually quite a lot that thrives in this barren landscape. This pattern celebrates a few of these unique plants including lichen, cloudberries, and moss while the beautiful Tundra gradient colourway of Hilori’s Magical Yarnorium Meri Jane captures the beautiful colours of this landscape. This is a sideways asymmetrical shawl and it uses increases and decreases to create a long triangular shape that is easy to wear.

This pattern was originally designed in collaboration with Hilori’s Magical Yarnorium as part of the Cross Country Canada Road Trip KAL. The pattern, and the gradient colourway Tundra, represent Canada’s Northwest Territories. See also: Dancing Skies Shawl.

This shawl is now also shown here in another of Hilori’s Magical Yarnorium gradients, Come Get Some!
