My Dazzling Daffodils Shawl pattern was originally published in April, 2021. Since then, I have been donating either a portion of or all of the April sales income for this pattern every year to the Canadian Cancer Society. They run their Daffodil Campaign every April so it’s the perfect way to help their fundraiser and that’s important to me because cancer affects my family as I’m sure it does yours.
The Dazzling Daffodils Shawl
The Dazzling Daffodils Shawl pattern is a garter and lace end-to-end shawl. The lace border consists of flower shapes that look like daffodils. You knit it in one piece and it isn’t difficult to complete. And because the lace border is not very wide the shawl ends up being long and almost scarf-like. It’s easy to wear.
The yarn I designed the shawl with is a beautiful daffodil yellow colour. It’s Hedgehog Fibres Sock Yarn in Butter. One skein is all it takes.
The Canadian Cancer Society’s Daffodil Campaign
Years ago, the Canadian Cancer Society Daffodil Campaign consisted of the sale of fresh daffodils every spring with proceeds going to fund research and to support cancer patients. Now, the Daffodil Campaign is primarily online. Donations can be made online and there are also even options to donate in memory of someone or to specify a certain cancer to receive the funding. Sales of my Dazzling Daffodils Shawl are the perfect way for me to spread the word to all of you about this important fundraiser and to get your assistance in making a combined donation.
This Year’s Donation
In 2021, when the pattern was first released, I was able to donate $114. Then in 2022 I raised $25 and matched that for a total donation of $50. In 2023 together we made a total donation of only $36.
Last year, in 2024, I decided it was time to try a little harder and I dropped the pattern price to $2 for the month of April and donated all of the proceeds for a total donation of $592.
This year, I’m doing the same. The Dazzling Daffodils Shawl pattern is $2 for the month of April and all proceeds will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society at the end of the month. If you want to help out with this worthwhile cause you can purchase the pattern for $2 at any of these three places:
Together we can make a difference. Thank you for your help!
