Here it is! It’s the original Lovely Stripes Shawl and the pattern is available now. What started as a little experiment in combining features of two other patterns turned into a delightful new creation. I chose to use a mini-skein set plus an additional colour and it also became perfectly suited for mini-skein sets, fade sets, advent calendars, or any creative combination of colours you might have in your yarn stash.
I alternated the eyelets from the Lovely Eyelets shawl with garter stripes from 8 Simple Stripes. And that created a larger, lighter, and airier shawl with a fantastic curved shape that sits perfectly on the shoulders. You’re going to love it!
The pattern is designed for SweetGeorgia Yarns Tough Love Sock. My main colour is Lilac. I used one skein of that main colour plus a Party of Five mini-skein set in Royals for the garter stripes. The yarn is soft and squishy and the colours are gorgeous.
The pattern includes a yarn use diagram detailing the yarn amounts required for each of the 10 stripes for those who want to get creative with your colour combinations. I knitted a second Lovely Stripes with a Koigu Pencil Box set of 10 mini-skeins:
