Are you looking for a simple soothing garter stitch project by any chance? If you are, then here is Travel a Crooked Path. This is a small one-skein shawl knitting pattern full of garter stitch and eyelets. The clean symmetrical lines of this little shawl balance perfectly with a dainty picot edge. So grab a pretty skein of fingering weight yarn and enjoy!
This is a sideways asymmetrical shawl. It starts with one stitch and increases to the opposite long edge. It then finishes with a picot bind-off. The crooked lines of eyelets break up the garter stitch and keep the knitting interesting. Also, this shawl is completely reversible. It can be worn with either side facing.
Travel A Crooked Path is shown here in Malabrigo Mechita in the colourway Dried Orange. Mechita is a single ply 100% merino wool yarn. It’s soft and light and feels so luxurious. It’s one of my favourite fingering weight yarns. Choose a fall colour like this one for a fall shawl. Or, choose a bright colour for a summer shawl. The choice is yours!
