Here is one last knitted cowl pattern before winter comes to a close. The Lattice and Purl Cowl is an easy one skein cowl with a pretty lace design on a purl background, reminiscent of my Contentment Cowl pattern from the Winter Comfort Collection. It is worked in the round and every second row is knit, making it a quick little project. If you enjoyed the Contentment Cowl pattern then you’re sure to love this one too!

Any worsted weight yarn is suitable. It is shown here in Malabrigo Rios and the colour is Sand Bank. Choose any colour, but keep in mind that solid colours show off the pretty motif best.

Just like the Contentment Cowl this one has a lace-like motif set in a background of garter stitch. The garter stitch gives the cowl some sturdiness while the motif gives it its beauty.

The Lattice Purl Cowl pattern uses yarn overs plus three different decrease stitches to create the motif. The three decrease stitches are k2tog, ssk, and S2KP2. If you’re not familiar with these decreases then this is a great little pattern to learn them. The pattern includes explanations for each decrease stitch.
