If you liked the Diamond Purl Cowl knitting pattern then you will also want to knit the Honeycomb Eyelet Cowl pattern too.

Both of these one-skein cowls were originally designed in Red Sock Blue Sock Superwash Worsted yarn. The Honeycomb Eyelet Cowl is shown here in Chestnut. Unfortunately, this yarn has since been discontinued.

Because the original yarn was discontinued I eventually knitted a new version in Lichen and Lace Superwash Merino Worsted and I chose the colour Sugar Plum. Any worsted weight yarn will work with this pattern. Choose a colour that isn’t too dark to help the honeycomb pattern show more clearly.

When I re-knitted the cowl I also updated the pattern. You can find out all about that process in this other blog post.

You will work this cowl in the round. It uses left and right cross cable stitches to create the honeycomb pattern as well as yarn over eyelets. It’s a quick project with beautiful results.

Don’t forget to show off your cowl on social media! Use either #honeycombeyeletcowl or #leahmichelledesigns. I’d love to see how yours turns out!
