The Diamond Purl Cowl is a great one-skein project for a beautiful skein of worsted weight yarn. We all have a collection of those, right? When I originally designed the pattern I used Red Sock Blue Sock Superwash Worsted in Olive, which is unfortunately now discontinued.
Because the original yarn was discontinued I eventually knitted a new version of the Diamond Purl Cowl in Lichen and Lace Superwash Merino Worsted and I chose the colour Linen. Any worsted weight yarn will work beautifully with this pattern.
When I re-knitted the cowl I also updated the pattern. You can find out all about that process in this other blog post.
You will work this cowl in the round. Only knit and purl stitches are used to create the wide ribbing and purl ‘diamonds’. It’s quick and easy and also fun to wear!
Be sure to also check out the Diamond Purl Cowl’s sister pattern, the Honeycomb Eyelet Cowl. It’s also a fun one skein cowl pattern and I also re-knitted and updated it.
