Do you enjoy taking part in KALs? A Knit-A-Long is a great way to complete a knitting project because it provides a deadline for completion, help and/or support from others who are knitting along too, and oftentimes there are prizes. Here are a few fun ones that are happening (or are about to start) now.
- The Fall with SweetGeorgia KAL/CAL/WAL/SAL is running now until the end of November. Prizes include SweetGeorgia patterns and yarn (awesome!!). SweetGeorgia Yarns must be used for all projects and bonus points can be earned for the listed challenges.
- Alicia Plummer and Melissa Schaschwary are about to start their Deep Fall Knitalong in their Ravelry group. Knit any of their accessory patterns to take part. They have released several beautiful new accessory patterns recently in preparation. Check out Melissa’s Timber Bay and Through The Fields hats and her Sugared Maple arm warmers. Also take a look at Alicia’s Blue Plaid cowl and Red Flannel arm warmers.
- If you’re more interested in knitting shawls, how about the Red Sock Blue Sock Winter KAL? Knit any shawl pattern in RSBS yarn to take part. There are prizes from RSBS Yarn, the Tangled Skein, and patterns from me!
- Of course, the ultimate KAL at this time of year is always the Indie Design Gift-A-Long that takes over Ravelry every November/December. The pattern sale will happen from Thursday, November 19th at 8:00 pm US EST to Friday, November 27, 2015 at 11:59 pm US EST. Participating designers will be offering 25% off selected patterns. The KAL/CALs will run from Thursday, November 19th at 8pm (US-EST) through to the New Years Eve party on Thursday, December 31 at midnight (US-EST). See you there!
Will you be taking part in a KAL this winter?
