This snug fitting beanie is knit in a soft and warm merino wool. The hat is worked in the round from the bottom up. The cables travel up the hat and hide the decreases used to shape the crown. Four sizes are presented, each with a different number of cables and/or pattern repeats. It is a quick and easy project that you can knit for all your friends and family!

Yarn

Malabrigo Merino Worsted (100% merino wool; 210 yd [192 m]/100 grams). 1 skein, or approximately 65 (90, 120, 137) yds. Shown in #9 polar morn, #140 dark earth, #601 simply taupe, and #609 purple magic.

Needles

US size 7 [4.5 mm] 16” [40 cm] circular needle.
US size 9 [5.5 mm] 16” [40 cm] circular needle.
US size 9 [5.5 mm] double-pointed needles (dpns).
Adjust needle size as necessary to obtain gauge.

Gauge

12.5 sts and 13 rows = 2 inches [5 cm] in cable pattern worked in the rnd with larger needle, after blocking.

Sizes

Child – 11.5” circumference, 6” length. Will fit 18-20” head circumference.
Teen/Sm. Adult – 13.5” circumference, 7” length. Will fit 20-22” head circumference.
Medium Adult – 15.5” circumference, 8” length. Will fit 22-24” head circumference.
Large Adult -15.5” circumference, 9” length. Will fit 22-24” head circumference.
