The Waffle Stitch pattern from the popular Boxy Dishcloth and Boxy Cozy has been reinvented in the Boxy Slouchy! This hat has just the right amount of slouch and just enough of an interesting pattern to make it fun to wear and easy to knit. Plus, it goes great with the Boxy Cowl!
Yarn: Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Sport (100% superwash merino wool; 136 yd [125 m]/1.75 oz [50 g]). 2 skeins. Shown in #807 raspberry.
Needles:
US size 6 [4.0 mm] 16” [40 mm] circular needle.
US size 8 [5.0 mm] 16” [40 mm] circular needle.
US size 8 [5.0 mm] double-pointed needles (dpns).
Adjust needle size as necessary to obtain gauge.
Size: Fits approximate head circumference of 22 inches [56 cm]. Finished circumference of body of hat at widest point = 19.5 inches [49.5 cm]. Finished circumference of brim is 15 inches [38 cm]. Finished length of hat is 10 inches [25 cm].
Required skills: Knitting in the round, increasing, decreasing.
Pattern stitch is written and charted. Pattern instructions include working gauge (before washing and drying) and finished gauge (after washing and drying).
