The sun is shining. The weather is warm. I think it’s a great time to start thinking about fall and winter knitting patterns, right? There are some great accessories here that would be lovely to have on hand when the weather turns cool in the fall!

  • Canadian designer, Laura Chau, just released a great cowl pattern: Byway Cowl. Worked in a sport weight yarn, this pattern gives instructions for a double or single loop cowl. The double loop cowl is shown in a silk yarn which makes it suitable for any season really. Very pretty indeed!
  • The Arika Cowl is by another Canadian designer, Jane Richmond. The interesting construction makes this a unique looking cowl and looks like a quick knit in bulky yarn.
  • Rachel Coopey‘s Tickety-boo Mittens and Lickety-split cabled hat are both cute patterns in Fyberspates’ Vivacious Kids Collection.

  • And, although not strictly a fall/winter pattern, I must mention this gorgeous shawl by ambahLilli Pilli looks full and luxurious. With a bright colour combination like the red, grey, and cream combo it is shown in I think it would brighten up a fall coat in just the right way. I think I need one of these. I really love it!

Have I convinced you yet that it’s time for fall knitting?
