It’s the final week of April and May is beginning. It’s not surprising that shawl patterns are dominating my Ravelry highlights and the Hot Right Now List. You must check these out:
- Oceanbound by Melanie Berg and Crimson Blossom by Romi Hill are two beautiful shawl patterns
that are available as Craftsy kits. Oceanbound is a fingering weight triangular shawl and Crimson Blossom is a sport weight lace rectangular shawl. These two patterns can be purchased as individual kits or as bundle along with Andrea Rangel‘s Melisseus Cowl pattern. See all of these options here: Exclusive Spring Wraps. - Melissa Schaschwary‘s beautiful crescent-shaped shawl, Back Home, is designed in Julie Asselin Leizu DK, a beautiful Canadian yarn. Kits are also available in Julie Asselin’s Etsy shop.
- Thea Colman‘s Rum Daisy is a bright and beautiful fingering weight crescent shaped shawl.
- Not exactly a shawl, but a wide lace scarf, Conklaree by Bonnie Sennott is a pretty spring pattern. It is part of her All You Need is One ebook of one-skein projects.
- If you are looking for a free shawl pattern, take a look at Siena by Anniken Allis. It’s available on Ravelry and also on the Artesano Yarns website.
- My favourite shawl this week is certainly Tulips by Emily Wessel, of the Tin Can Knits designer team. In one of my favourite Canadian yarns, SweetGeorgia Yarns CashSilk Lace, this beautiful shawl is a versatile pattern that can also be knit as a blanket. It looks just challenging enough and so gorgeous that it would be a dream to knit.
